Aging and Neuromuscular Adaptations to Environmental Demands
Active Research Project
The aim of this work is to understand motor control adaptations to environmental demands, such as stairs and irregular surfaces typically encountered in the outdoor built environment. In addition, we study the effects of aging on these motor control adaptations. The long term goal is to reduce the occurrence of falls, a leading cause of hospital admissions and injury-related deaths among older adults.
