The purpose of this study is to evaluate if functional electrical stimulation (FES) rowing is a viable rehabilitation exercise to minimize or reverse bone loss after spinal cord injury (SCI). We develop subject-specific computational models to determine knee forces during FES rowing. Knee forces are important because the knee is the most common site for fragility fractures after SCI. The long-term goal is to improve bone health and minimize fractures after SCI.
